Not bad for a first try

If you are going to use lines as your subject matter especially if they are invoking the mood of the music, you really have to be spot on with timing and beats. The bottom line that is trying to go with the beat or flow of the music seems too rough. Smooth it out and make it more rhythmic with the flow of the music. The parts that spawn off of it are done pretty well. Keep it up.

Great style

Good work on the high contrast lighting style. Seldom few pull it off correctly. The only thing (really digging deep) was the "stupid jerk" line. He doesn't strike me as the kind of person who calls people jerks ( more like b#tc or F*ckhead) so the line sounded strange but to each their own. Great work, it's always nice to see an old old project finally hit completion ehh?

Great use of silhouette

Short and sweet. Great art style, great joke. I'm tired of people bitchin' about how short movies automatically can't be good and marking them down. I've got shit to do, if you can get to the point without killing minutes of my life I say more power to ya. This sir, is the George Foreman of Christmas cards. Way to knock out the fat.

Aww,

Now I feel good. Nice and Simple. Good work.

Not the funniest cat in the bag but great looking

It wasn't super funny or entertaining, but neither was wacky races. Still, the effort into the characters and ships was what the French call, " Outstanding." Great work.

I almost gave up on it half way...

But stuck with it and I'm glad I saw it through yo the end. The somber beginning and faceless style got me a little scared this was yet another self indulgent piece of crap whine-fest but it wasn't. The only thing I would have liked to see different was a little more animation/body acting from the character. It's hard to capture emotions with no face, and I think some parts did better than others. Non the less, I'm nit picking, but I feel good artist should get real input, not just smoke blown up their ass. Way to try something different (and serious, no easy feat around here) and I'd have to say you pulled it off. Good stuff.

Thanks for the review Mr.Punbeard,

Yeah, it does really start out slow but that has never really bothered my in movies or animations, I kind of enjoy the groove I get when easing into a movie or film. The character animation should definetely have been done better! I can't tell you how many times I say to myself, "That looks way too machine like or clunky". I really didn't know much about movement or even human anatomy so I just kind of did what I could. Looking back at it, I'm really happy I've improved.

The bombdest of diggities

Great work and I really don't think you need fret about the clean up team. We all wish we had them but I really think the style works the way it is. You clean it up too much and it'll lose the effect. Simply great.

Sorry Dude, just not impressed

I can tell there is time and effort in here, but the jokes are real stale and it takes forever for anything to happen. Voice acting is weak too. On the plus side, backgrounds and the raptor looked very nice. I think a faster pace would really help this out. Long, drawn out humor is hard to do, even the office and Family guy don't get it right all the time and they really set the bar. Keep at it.

th1rt3en responds:

Yeah, we know the story/humor is really incomplete and weak. That's why we sort of forgot about it for two years. And I don't think either of us want to use Family Guy style humor. For me, at least, while it's funny, but when they came back on the air, the jokes just got more and more randomly placed and some of the stories just got bad. Anyway, thanks for the comments.

Great style and solid retelling or this story

Better than the one I heard in Church. Normally I'm all about funny stories on new grounds because the artsy ones are self indulgent crap nobody gets and high school kids are the only ones with enough spare time to ponder the "meaning." I thought you had good animation and it kept me interested through the whole thing, and it wasn't too long. Mad props, and don't take these 4's, 3's and 1's too seriously. Sure they're an audience but it doesn't look like any of them know how to draw, so who's worse off for the experience?

PS I love your backgrounds
